5 more days to go!! how time flies.. can't believe that another year is ending.. and as things end, we will be reflecting things that had happened.. new year's eve would be a spectacular nite wz lotsa celebration and parties.. how would my new year's eve be? well, i'll just be home wz schatz watching tv or playing PS2.. hehehe.. anyway, jus feeling like sharing something.. i kinda miss celebrating the new year's eve.. the last time i did was back in 2002.. my fav part of the nite is the fireworks and jus being out late nite.. after dad left, it was easy for me to go out late at nite.. schatz and i (as a couple would be) celebrate new year's eve watching fireworks. if i'm not mistaken, i only gone out twice or three times only to celebrate new year's eve.. why did i stop? sure you think cos i'm married.. not exactly.. it's not like i have children or things to do at home.. it's bcos i'm afraid.. afraid of what? afraid of not doing the right thing as a muslim should.. schatz played this 'ceramah' cassette about celebrating new year's eve.. things mentioned were: i dont wanna jeopardize my faith by going out to celebrate new year's eve.. i guess i'm playing safe.. i'm thankful to God for another year of life and i'm thankful for all the blessings and happiness that The Almighty have given to me.. all of that can be done at home right? plus, i still can watch fireworks from here.. i'm sorry if i offended anyone but this is something that i wanna share. . i'm not trying to be mrs nice or mrs 'alim' or 'ustazah'.. i know where i stand.. i know some ppl who i love dearly that will probably get drunk and party all nite on new year's eve.. it's not just that they're doing sins but they're hurting themselves. i know i should mind my own business but i jus dont understand why educated ppl can ignore common sense... *sigh* the most popular excuse would be "we're jus having a good time. cannot ah?" wat-eva! anyway, to all my friends and readers who are celebrating new year's eve.. be careful on the road or anywhere.. to the muslims, remember that Allah is watching, so behave yourself and dont get yourself into any trouble.. take care everyone.. and have a happy new year!!

| masni December 29, 2005 11:38 PM PST religion matters are quite sensitive to be discussed. i dont find myself worthy enuff to be telling ppl what to do or not when it comes to religious matters. cos i questioned some things too. so, i play safe.. pls dont be angry wz me.. i'm jus sharing and it depends to the individual on how to act. cos we're all educated and smart to know what's wrong and what's right.. and it's not just about nawaitu.. action counts. pls dont be angry!! | ||

| fid December 29, 2005 08:40 AM PST We live in a country that celebrates so many 'non muslim' holidays. Is it wrong to wish a catholic fren merry xmas? Its just as wrong to take time out to be with family n friends to do the stupid countdown and wish each other happy new year then.we get time of, public holidays wich r all to celebrate other religions celebration.we work on friday, and use gregorian calender. I guess the key is moderation kan? | ||
